Timothy J. Tesh is currently a doctoral student in trumpet performance at the University of Southern California. He has received a Master of Music degree in trumpet from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts in music from Mars Hill College. Mr. Teshhas had the distinct pleasure of performing with Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole,Patti Austin, Take 6, Quincy Jones, Dave Koz, and many other music greats. Timothy played lead trumpet on the Grammy-nominated album Self-Contained with the University of Kentucky Jazz Ensemble, and he has recently completed an American and Canadian national tour of Mel Brooks’ The Producers.
Arlo Thompson Trumpet
Arlo began his education at Metropolitan State College of Denver, studying with Ron Miles, before transferring to the University of Kentucky to finish his BM in Trumpet Performance. There he studied trumpet with Rolf Holly and Mark Clodfelter. Arlo became an active freelance artist in the central Kentucky region, performing with numerous ensembles including the Lexington Philharmonic, Paragon Music Theater, Saxton's Cornet Band, the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, as well as many other groups. He is a founding member of the Victory Brass Quintet. For seven years Arlo taught as a faculty member at the Centenary School of Music. Having recently finished performing in the National Tour of Annie, he now resides in Brooklyn, NY with the beautiful Liz and the irrationally grumpy Nash.
Lynn Steeves Horn
Lynn is currently the piano, horn, and music appreciation instructor at Indiana University-Southeast in New Albany, IN and just completed her Doctorate in horn performance from Stony Brook University where she studied with Ann Ellsworth and Bill Purvis. She earned her Bachelors in horn performance with a minor in piano from the University of Kentucky, studying with David Elliott, and her Masters in horn performance from Florida State University where she studied with Michelle Stebleton and was the horn studio's teaching assistant. Lynn has performed with such groups as the Tallahassee and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestras, Penn's Woods Music Festival, and the Long Island Concert Pops. Lynn also performed at the 2008 and 2009 Southeast Horn Workshops, 2010 Northeast Horn Workshop, 2010 International Women's Brass Conference and helped to lead a warm-up session at the 2008 International Horn Workshop in Denver, Co. Lynn is also a sectional coach at Male and Atherton High Schools in Louisville, KY and is building a private piano and horn studio at her home.
Brad Kerns Trombone
Brad is currently residing in Lexington, KY with his wife Katie, their sons Charley and Simon,and their dog Sydney. He received his BMME from the University of Kentucky while studying with Dale Warren and his MM in Trombone Performance at Boston University while studying with Scott Hartman. Brad has performed with groups such as the Temptations, Synergy Brass Quintet, Momus Trombone Quartet, the Broadway touring production of Chicago, and currently performs with the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, Paragon Music Theater Company, Victory Brass Quintet, and the Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra. He has taught at the Tanglewood Institute, the Eastern Kentucky Foster Music Camp, the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts, and currently teaches within the Catholic Diocese of Lexington as well as Asbury University.
Louis Bremer, III Bass Trombone
A freelance bass trombonist, Louis was the bass trombonist with the San Antonio Symphony in 2009-2010 season, and the Chamber Orchestra of New York 2007-2009. He is a substitute musician with the Houston, Hartford, Harrisburg, New World, and New Haven Symphonies. In 2008 and 2009 he was an adjunct member of The Academy, a program of Carnegie Hall and the New York City public school system. As a chamber musician, Louis has performed with the Academy Brass Quintet, Synergy Quintet, Momus Trombone Quartet, and in 2009 recorded Chants and Flourishes with the American Brass Quintet. As a soloist, he was featured at the 2008 Tennessee Music Educator’s Association Convention, the College Band Director’s National Association Convention, the 2007 Alessi Seminar, and on NPR’s “From the Top.” As an educator, Louis has taught privately and led masterclasses in middle schools and high schools in San Antonio, TX, Waco, TX, Kingsport, TN, Santa Barbara, CA, and New York City. He has participated in mentorship programs for young people through Carnegie Hall and the Music Academy of the West. His teachers include Scott Hartman, Brent Phillips, Mark Lawrence, Ralph Sauer, Joseph Alessi, and John Rojak. He holds a Master’s Degree from The Juilliard School and a Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University.
